Abstract
This recipe is an interactive way to engage creative and collaborative students with archives and special collections materials and use. Students from two disciplines, art and English, visit the reading room for instruction sessions and reading room and gallery tours. During the informational sessions, students view select monographs from the rare books collection. Once they have been seasoned with inspiration, students will return to their own kitchens to create their own cuisine, in this case poetry and artwork. The final product will be a beautiful and diverse feast exhibited in the archives and special collec¬tions reading room. During this process, the students will become acquainted with the archives and special collections and garner an understanding of its mission, expand their palate, and conquer some of their fear of the kitchen.
