Abstract
Excerpt: Marcelo Bucheli, Newcomen Fellow in Business History at Harvard Business School and Professor of Economic History at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota´, has made a significant contribution to a growing body of scholarship on the United Fruit Company (UFCO) in Latin America. Using previously untapped company records found in Colombian archives, Bucheli constructs the first general political and business history of UFCO in Colombia. (cont.)
