Abstract
The rapidly rotating G III star FK Comae (HD177555, P equals 2.4 d) was monitored for 18 days. The Penn State fiber optic echelle spectrograph was used on both the KPNO coude feed and 2.1 meter telescopes. While on the coude feed, two spectra were typically taken each night. The resulting data gives excellent phase coverage on FK Comae over about seven rotational periods. A subset of the data, taken over 10 days solely on the coude feed telescope, also possesses essentially complete phase coverage. The preliminary analysis presented here emphasizes correlation of variations of the H alpha, Ca II IRT, and Ca II H lines. (Author)
