Abstract
According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES, 2015) over 750,000 individuals are working as part-time faculty in higher education. As universities are being faced with the corporatization of higher education, many colleges and universities have chosen to hire part-time faculty, also known as adjuncts (Fain, 2014). Adjunct faculty are used in teacher preparation programs across the country. In many cases, adjunct faculty teach over 50% of the courses in teacher preparation programs. (Johnson, 2008; Keehn et al., 2003; Whitebrook, Bellm, Lee & Sakai, 2005). Nuangchalerm and Prachagool (2010) posited teacher preparation programs significantly influenced preservice teachers’ impressions about pedagogy and the profession.
