Abstract
Excerpt: Nowadays, the emphasis on metal nanoparticles in science and technology is becoming increasingly important because of their usage in many different fields such as imaging, sensors and catalysis. Due to the size effect and high surface energy, aggregation problems provide difficulties in use of metal nanoparticles for long-term storage, processing and catalysis applications. To increase the stability of the metal nanoparticles, some protecting and stabilizing agents such as linear polymers, surfactants, biomacromolecules, dendrimers, colloids and latexes have been used.1–3 Recently, we have reported intelligent hydrogels as a versatile material in metal nanoparticle preparation such as AMPS, SPM, and their use as catalysis media
