Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between patient satisfaction with outpatient physical therapy and patients' perception of their treatment outcomes. Variables of secondary interest such as age, sex, prior experience with physical therapy, area of body treated, and payer source were also examined to determine their influence on satisfaction and perception of outcomes. Data was obtained via anonymous survey from 47 respondents within 30 days of discharge. The results demonstrated a correlation of. 7 41 (p < .001) between patient satisfaction and perception of treatment outcomes. The secondary variables of interest had no statistically significant influence. These results support the use of evidence-based practice as a potential means to improve patient satisfaction.
