Abstract
Excerpt: I am the person at our library with the increasingly strange and diffi-cult task of reporting collection statistics to various agencies. Whenwe are asked to state the number of e-journal subscriptions we have,I cringe. Given the many options there are now for obtaining e-journal content (title by title, publisher package, database with full-text), deter-mining how many individual titles to which we subscribe is not straight-forward. For instance, titles accessed through full-text databases are notcounted individually, but titles in publisher packages are–at least as arule. It could make a collection manager crazy. At any given time, though, I can easily determine how many e-journals our users can access, using the administrative module of our serials management system.
