Abstract
In this paper, the authors discuss the use of distance education technologies to create cross-national educational connections in social work. It draws upon lessons learned from distance education demonstration efforts that linked a social work education programme in the United States with several programs in the Caribbean using an Internet-based course management system. The authors argue that distance education technologies, especially web-based technologies, can be effective tools for promoting international learning in social work & helping students overcome educational isolation, provided that the challenges of cross-cultural/cross-national education are recognized & addressed. 31 References.
