Abstract
Excerpt: Hurricane Katrina has been estimated to be the largest natural disaster ever to strike the United States. It was certainly a tragedy of enormous proportions, but it also raises broader questions about how the region should be restored (Bohannon and Enserink, 2005) and about the vulnerability and sustainability of coastal regions worldwide.
