Abstract
Excerpt: The coronavirus pandemic of 2020 has transformed the way physician assistant (PA) education is delivered. For a period of time earlier this year, PA programs across the nation were required to provide their didactic and clinical coursework fully online. While this change was mandated due to circumstances beyond our control, it is worth considering that curriculum modifications, especially during the didactic year, provide an opportunity for PA education to transition into a new phase of remote instruction. For years, the mantra of medical education has followed the “see one, do one, teach one” method, but what if that could be applied differently? Perhaps, traditional podium lecture delivery is not the best use of the student's, or the professor's, time. Is it possible that PA students could spend their time more effectively in a virtual space watching online lectures, honing their skills, and reviewing current and pertinent evidence-based medicine articles?
