Abstract
People of Turkish origin represent one half million in the US. With their continuous immigration patterns or growing presence in the US, issues of acculturation and cultural integration arise. The purpose of this study was to analyze the process of cultural integration in multieultural societies from the perspectives of first-generation Turkish immigrants currently residing in the US. The study used a qualitative research approach with semi-structured interview and data was collected for a four-week period during December 2010 and January 2011 among 15 persons (10 were male and five were female aged from 23 to 58). The interviews were conducted individually with each participant individually as well as one in a focus group comprised Turkish immigrants in order to investigate the of interaction Turkish people in the US culture.
