Abstract

minority academic affairs Faculty. Higher education institutions
This article represents the author’s autobiographical reflection related to her journey as a diverse faculty member and now administrator in higher education. In the context of U.S. higher education, the “minority” label is a troubling issue that has perpetuated both implicit and explicit confinements. The author tells how she has negotiated within herself to navigate an imposed identity.
