Abstract
Excerpt: As we release the last issue of 2022, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the year and provide some updates related to the Journal of Music Therapy (JMT). In looking back at the articles published in the JMT over the last year, we are impressed with the diversity of projects as reflected in the varied research methodologies used and clinical practice areas explored. This can be seen in the current issue, which includes an assessment validation, a systematic review, and two qualitative studies that examine areas related to telehealth, dementia, autism, parent–child attachment, and professional retention. Furthermore, the rigor and quality of the music therapy research being conducted continues to be high. This is in part reflected in a measure called impact factor.
