Abstract
Excerpt: Welcome back to the new Resource Sharing and Information Networks! RSIN has been off the scene for a while, which might suggest that resource sharing among libraries has diminished in importance over the last few years. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is October 2008, and as we wrap up our first issue as RSIN's editors, it is painfully clear to us that collaboration and cooperation among libraries is more important than ever. As library budgets plummet even faster than the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and where no one library could hope to offer more than a nanoparticle of the universe of information, librarians are realizing that we must work together to serve our users successfully.
