Abstract
We describe methods for the rapid and simultaneous isolation of DNA, RNA, and protein from small amounts of maize tissue. The methods were specifically developed for immature endosperm tissue, but have been found to be applicable to all maize tissues tested. Procedures are also described for the isolation of transcriptionally active nuclei from endosperm which should be useful in the purification of transcription factors and in measuring transcriptional activity in maize tissues.
