Abstract
This study reports the occurrence of a morphological abnormality (pectoral fins not fused with the head) in a juvenile female of the diamond stingray Dasyatis dipterura (Jordan & Gilbert, 1880) from the Gulf of California. The animal was caught with a monofilament gillnet by the artisanal fishermen from Estero del Soldado, Sonora, Mexico. This work represents the first record of this condition in the diamond stingray.
