Abstract

Analysis Evaluation Industrial suppliers Product development
Suppliers have a critical role in the success of integrated product development (IPD), a strategy which enhances the competitive effect of the new product development process. European and American companies have generally accepted the importance of supplier involvement, although US companies have been able to advance furthest in achieving nearly simultaneous design. US companies are more committed to suppliers integrated into the development effort.
