Abstract
An overview of the time-limited telephone hotline & its functions suggests a model for implementation planning. It is noted that time-limited hotlines differ from the long-term kind by creating community support, showcasing local leadership, & promoting intense media involvement. A successfully planned time-limited hotline must consider sponsorship, administratively ensure its proper & smooth operation, & highlight its public debut with massive media coverage.
