Abstract

This article describes the importance of exercise in the treatment of patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA). The authors discuss problem of muscular atrophy for knee OA patients and the importance of exercise in helping to slow articular cartilage degeneration. Exercise goals such as flexibility, strength, and control of movement are noted and treatment methods are recommended based upon exercise priorities..
