Abstract
An exploratory study identified the profile and motivations of students of an MBA in Human Resource (HR) Management through a descriptive and explanatory method, by conducting a bibliographic research and applying an online survey. The results indicated a preponderance of studies on the competencies of HR professionals. The survey revealed a predominance of female students, aged between 26-31 years old, with degrees in Psychology and Education. Their motivations were centered on professional development, studying in a prestigious university, and granting a job in HR. Although they considered the faculty as the strongest aspect of the course, the most criticized one was the content of the disciplines, considered too theoretical. In conclusion, students expressed a need for a more complete HR training that could enable them to work in this field.
