Abstract
FGCU was honored as a finalist for the 2024 Gartner Eye on Innovation Award for Higher Education Teaching and Learning Award for the development partnership with Clarivate with an experimental generative ai reading coach and platform: Alethea. 5 faculty from the Lutgert College of Business, including Dr. Chrissann Rhuele, utilized Alethea to improve reading comprehension and learning outcomes. Two teams who entered a national business strategy competition from Dr. Rhuele's won best overall team in summer 2023 and Spring of 2024. 85% of students who utilized Alethea in the spring of 2024 in 15 classes across multiple disciplines, told us Alethea helped them understand the course concepts identified in the required readings.
