Except: Gush and silence of creek rippling over face and shadow of the afternoon my uncle and I went hunting squirrel in high Virginia woods. White oak running toward the sky, branches revealing wind or rodent feet, and if the latter, my uncle would bring up the twelve gauge, blast that sucker into a falling grey rag...
