Abstract
The LGBT+ Oral History Project began as a student honors project in 2012-2013, which comprised a small collection of oral histories from lesbian alumnae of Mississippi University for Women. These original histories, three in total, were expanded into the current project with the formation of a project board that includes stakeholders from many departments on campus. Guided by the structure of existing oral history programs at MUW, the project was broadened to include the full spectrum of LGBT+ alumni in its purpose. Students serve as interviewers and transcribers during MUW’s annual homecoming, and the collection now includes numerous additional interviews. In this talk, the speakers will discuss the growth of the project, how it has been affected by COVID-19, and their next steps.
