Expertise

My research expertise is based on applications of plasmonic nano materials in combination with molecular spectroscopic techniques and multivariate statistical analysis to solve problems in analytical (bio), environmental, and forensic chemistry with a quantitative approach. More specifically, I am an expert researcher and a mentor who uses Raman-SERS, fluorescence, mass spectroscopy, nanoplasmonic techniques, and chemometric models to develop sensing tools and imaging methods for a wide range of analytes originating in chemical, biological, environmental, and forensic samples. My ongoing and future research works focus on development of nano-sensors, lateral flow assay (LFA) microfluidics tools, and chemometric models for quantitative analysis of biomarkers, drugs, micro-nanoplastics involving undergraduate, graduate students and researchers.

I earned my Ph.D. from the lab of Dr. Anjan Chakraborty, Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore. Title of my Ph.D. thesis is 'Liposome-DNA/Protein Interactions: Impacts on Anticancer Drug Molecules'. My PhD thesis deals with encapsulation of anti-cancer drug molecules like ellipticine and doxorubicin in biocompatible nano liposomes and observe their release kinetics upon interaction with physiologically important proteins, enzymes, and DNA in biomimetic environment and medium. I extensively used fluorescence spectroscopy (steady state as well as time correlated single photon counting, TCSPC, for picosecond range lifetime measurement) and confocal microscopy along with other biomolecular spectroscopic, microscopic and nano-material characterization techniques.
