Dr. Lambrecht utilizes computer simulations to gain insights into molecular processes such as: 1) capture of greenhouse gases by ionic liquids, 2) polymerization reactions to create new types of polymers, and 3) detection of pollutants by "chemical noses" and molecular force detectors. Dr. Lambrecht has a track record in teaching and developing new courses to address students' needs, for example in Scientific Proposal Writing and Mathematics for Chemistry. Dr. Lambrecht has received regional and national awards for developing innovative teaching approaches, such as technology-enhanced learning of chemistry concepts.
