Joshua Olowoyo is currently an Associate Professor of Environmental Health and Program Director, Health Sciences in the Department of Health Sciences, at Florida Gulf Coast University. Joshua Olowoyo is also a Joint Faculty at The Water School of FGCU. Dr Olowoyo received a Doctoral degree with a specialization in Environmental Science from the University of Limpopo, Pretoria, South Africa in 2008. His current research activity is on the impacts of pollutants such as trace metals on human health. Before joining Florida Gulf Coast University in 2022, Dr Olowoyo worked at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, Pretoria, South Africa for seventeen years. While in South Africa, Dr Olowoyo was recognized by the National Research Foundation, one of the main funding agencies of the country as an Established Researcher with a C2 rating. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed articles. He is currently serving as an Academic Editor for two journals and a reviewer for numerous journals. He has successfully supervised 6 doctoral and 16 master’s degree students.
