Expertise
I am passionate about science and my enthusiasm shines through when I teach. I think it is important to educate students on the basic facts and concepts while also stimulating them to think and to question. As a scientist my favorite part of learning is asking questions and I encourage this in my classes. I also think students need to see the relevance in what they are learning. As adults they will face many issues they need to make informed decisions about, such as stem cell research, gene therapy, global warming, etc. A strong scientific background is an important asset for young adults who will one day be facing these concerns.
