Abstract
English: This study aimed to investigate the influence of American amateur golfers' attitudes toward professional golfers on their participation in leisure golf. According to existing literature, previous researchers have interpreted this topic from two perspectives: cultural adaptation and cultural assimilation. While the perspective of ethnic perception could offer a different interpretation, approaches regarding this remain lacking in the field of golf. This paper investigated the intention to participate in leisure golf in relation to ethnic perception and attitudes toward PGA golfers. 193 local amateur golfers participated in the survey. The overall statistical results indicated that a sense of belonging, the importance of ethnicity, and the strength of within-group perception effectively described the construct of ethnic perception and influenced changes in amateur golfers' positive attitudes toward PGA golfers. In other words, an individual's ethnic perception can be effectively measured by these three parameters. In this regard, the strong and positive structural relationship between ethnic perception and attitude constructs suggests that it serves as an important predictor variable in the formation of amateur golfers' attitudes toward PGA golfers. However, despite the statistically significant difference, attitude change was found not to have a major effect on behavioral intention.
Korean: 프로골퍼들에 대한 미국 대중골퍼들의 태도가 여가 골프 참여에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 기존문헌들에 의하면 선행연구자들은 이와 같은 주제를 문화적응과 문화동화라는 두 관점에서 해석해왔다. 민족성 인지에 대한 관점이 또다른 해석이 될수도 있지만 이에 관한 접근이 골프분야에서는 여전히 부족하다. 본 논문은 여가 골프참여에 대한 의도를 민족성 인지와 PGA 골퍼들에 대한 태도에 관하여 조사하였다. 193명의 지역 여가 골퍼들이 설문에 참여하였다. 전반적인 통계결과에 의하면 소속감, 민족성의 중요도, 집단내 인지의 강한정도가 민족성 인지라는 구성체를 잘 묘사하는것으로 나타났고 , 여가 골퍼들의 PGA 골퍼들에 대한 긍정적인 태도변화에 영향을 주었다고 나타났다. 말하자면, 개인의 민족성 인지도가 위의 세가지 측정항목들에 의해 잘 측정될수 있다는 것이다. 이와관련해, 민족성 인지와 태도 구성체들간의 강하고 긍정적인 구조 관계가 여가 골퍼들의 PGA 골퍼들에 대한 태도형성에 중요한 예측변수가 됨을 시사한다.그러나 통계적 유의한 차이가 있는데도 불구하고 태도변화는 행동의도에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는것으로 나타났다.
